About
He was born in Egypt in 1944. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Ain Shams University in 1965 and was an instructor at the same college until 1968 when he emigrated to the United States of America.
He worked as an engineer with Cal Trans until 1972 and served as a Youth Leader at St. Mark Coptic Orthodox church in Los Angeles from 1970 to 1972. He was ordained by His Holiness Pope Shenouda III to serve in California. He was ordained a Hegumen in April 1, 1981. He served at Church of St. Mark from January 1974 to August 1974 and at Holy Virgin Mary Coptic Orthodox Church in Los Angeles from August 1974 until his departure.
He earned a Master's Degree from Claremont Graduate School of Religion in 1990. He produced the first Pascha Prayer book (the book used during Holy Week) in 1988, as well as many other books in English, Arabic and Coptic. He also commented and wrote on one of his main interests, Iconology. He slept in the Lord on November 16, 2006.
